    Literacy+ Program Brings Raptor Center to Bethune Elementary

    Seeing four different Minnesota birds of prey at Bethune Elementary School on January 24th, opened the second graders’ eyes to the raptor world around them here in Minnesota.     Our School Reads!

      The mission of OSR is to encourage literacy through reading one book by all students and staff in selected schools.  This fall, three different schools: Richfield Middle School, Maxfield Elementary and Riverview Elementary, collectively, received 1,156 books!     Bethune second graders were thrilled to spend time with a 26 year-old penguin, named Cupid, visiting from the Como Zoo. Cupid was born on Valentine’s Day.
