One of our nine community programs is what our chapter calls Available Hands. We reach out to meet needs on a short-term or emergency basis. The school nurse at Lucy Laney recently made us aware of a particular health need for one of its families and we’ll help with this need along with providing personal hygiene kits for 80 5th grade students at Jenny Lind Elementary School.
Riverview Elementary School in St. Paul had a need for headphones for their students’ iPads and we were able to provide headphones for each of the 450 students. Being able to meet these types of needs in our community is exciting and heart-warming to our members and we know it means a lot to the recipients.
